Steel Pencil has been awarded the structural steel detailing of the new Countdown in Redwoodtown, Blenheim. The 3500 square metre building at the corner of Weld St and Alabama Rd, will replace the existing Redwoodtown Countdown, which will be converted into retail shops. This project is being undertaken using Tekla Structures.

The existing building will have more than just a facelift. The facade and lobby will undergo extensive modernisation and pedestrians will awe in the feature complex canopy above. The Pak’n Save Whakatane supermarket refurbishment is under way which will expand its retail area by 33%. Steel Pencil is to provide construction modelling services for the refurbishment. Construction is expected to be completed late 2015.

Steel Pencil is awarded the construction modelling for the new A$21m Coles Development in Coburg North, Victoria, Australia. The development is expected to open mid 2015. The project would include a full-line 4000-square-metre Coles supermarket, 1200 sq m of shops, 760 sq m of office space and a medical centre.
