The Kilmore Street Medical Centre is a new three storey building in the Christchurch central business district. The building contains operating theatres, day stay facilities and consultant rooms for a range of medical practices. Steel Pencil provided the construction modelling and shop drawings for the structural steelwork.
An old supermarket in Levin was perfectly located to convert into an expanded public library, and the extra space allowed for a whole raft of community facilities to be included, all on a shoestring budget using local contractors and sub-contractors. Good team work and collaboration by all resolved issues as they arose to produce a superb place of learning. NEW ZEALAND COMMERCIAL PROJECTS AWARD
The new specialist centre as part pf the private hospital caters for a wide range of specialist areas. The hospital can now carry out 4000 - 4500 procedures a year due to the new premises.
Steel Pencil were commissioned to provide shop drawings for the new auditorium which also featured an elliptical building to the side which will contain the chapel.
Steel Pencil was commissioned to produce shop drawings for the new youth center, this project was unique as it was the first project for Steel Pencil which consisted of Hebel Roof Panels (lightweight concrete).
