The total project cost is $1.83 billion and the plant will deliver up to 100 billion litres of water each year (100GL) - about half of Adelaide’s annual water supply.
The bin was delivered in four modules with dimensions of 25m long, 9m wide and averaging 5m high. The average weight was 90 tonne for each module and was transported ‘breakbulk’ packs rather than conventional shipping containers. This method of transport allows for faster on and off-loading, improved safety and logistical ease.

As a follow up to the Dairy Trust Milk Plant, Steel Pencil were commissioned to supply the shop drawings for the Open Country Cheese Plant. This was the third dairy plant for Steel Pencil in succession.
As part of the Middlemount Mine Development Steel Pencil were commissioned to supply the shop drawings for the Feed Pipe Support.
Further highlighting Steel Pencils ability to work on Dairy Plants, we were commissioned to supply the shop drawings for the new Dairy Trust Plant at the same time as working on the Synlait Plant. Areas such as access stairs, handrails, floor form-work, silo supports were supplied.
In a specialty design area, Steel Pencil excel in producing accurate drawings for Dairy Plants. For the Synlait Milt Powder Plant such areas as access stairs, handrails, floor form-work, silo supports were supplied.
As the final part of the Pulp Mill a cooling tower was added to the side of the new Bleach plant. This featured handrails, a step ladder and a caged ladder.
As part of the extension project at the Maryvale Pulp Mill, Steel Pencil were commissioned to supply the shop drawings for the Pipe Bridge as well as an extension to the existing bridge.
