Ormond StockIn 1979, after a career spent in consulting in New Zealand, England and Australia, Ormond formed Ormond Stock Associates, a consulting engineering company which grew to have offices in Wellington, Auckland and Palmerston North. The company was responsible for many food industry buildings around the world, and also pioneered the use of fully intelligent integrated 3D modelling of buildings, in essence, prebuilding structures on a computer so that the contractor builds them for the second time. Part of this development involved the introduction of steel shop drawing into the consulting office; a step in the process of saving the client time and money. In 2002 John Silvester and Peter Clark purchased the company (now Silvester Clark) and Ormond turned his interests to Steel Pencil Ltd. Ormond is now a director of various companies and of Steel Pencil Ltd. His role at Steel Pencil is all "behind the scenes", setting strategies and goals, helping with background management and contributing IT management as time allows. Ormond's role at Steel Pencil is as Chairman. |
